Molecular mapping of QTLs associated with grain elongation in Basmati rice - Oryza sativa L. |
Molecular Mapping of QTLs Associated with Grain Elongation in Basmati Rice was undertaken to identify QTLs associated with grain elongation in basmati rice using BSA and whole genome sequencing based on F2 population derived from self pollinated F1 plants generated from a cross between Basmati 370 and Pusa Basmati 1121. The identified QTLs associated with grain elongation can be further used in basmati rice breeding programmes for grain elongation. To identify the QTLs associated with grain elongation the following objectives were designed i. To accomplish morphological analysis for grain elongation along with the development of genotypic pools to carry out bulked segregant analysis in basmati rice ii. To identify genomic regions associated with grain elongation using BSA-sequencing and iii. To validate the identified QTLs associated with the grain elongation in basmati rice. |

Identification of key molecular factors involved in resistance or susceptibility to para-tuberculosis infection in indigenous breeds of cows. |
This study provides crucial insights into the transcriptomic and genomic landscape of both infected and uninfected cattle revealing key genes, lncRNAs and SNPs associated with the disease condition. By identifying DEGs and potential biomarkers linked to MAP infection, the study offers valuable contributions to disease management and molecular understanding. These markers hold promise for integration into breeding programs facilitating the selection of cattle with increased resistance to MAP infection. |

Comparative genomics and genome evolution of Citrus |
Four cultivars of Mandarin, i.e., Nagpur Mandarin, Khasi Mandarin, Sikkim Mandarin, and Coorg Mandarin, and two cultivars of acid lime, i.e., NRCC7, and NRCC8, were resequenced. The study aims to do a comparative study with the other citrus genomes already available in the public database and to study the genome evolution of Indian cultivars. The genome data is also used to identify SNPs with peculiar characteristics like taste and flowering more than once a year. |

Whole genome sequencing of desi cattle to identify genetic variations associated with resistance and susceptibility to paratuberculosis infection. |
Whole genome sequencing was performed on Indian desi cattle to identify genetic variations associated with susceptibility and resistance to paratuberculosis, a chronic infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis . By comparing the genomes of cattle with differing disease outcomes, we aim to uncover genetic markers that can predict an individuals risk of infection and inform breeding strategies for disease resistance. |

Transcriptional dynamics in response to individual, combined, and sequential abiotic stresses at three severity levels and subsequent recovery in two contrasting genotypes of rice |
Comparative transcriptomics between two rice varieties performing best and least physiologically to an array of individual, combined and sequential abiotic stresses at mild, moderate and severe stages of the stress followed by recovery. The array includes drought, high temperature and submergence given individually or drought combined with high temperature or drought sequentially given post submergence. The analysis highlights the distinct transcriptomic responses of the two varieties. |

MICROBIAL ANALYSIS ON SPIRULINA LIQUID BIOFERTILIZER AS BIOSTIMULANT ON CORIANDRUM SATIVUM |
This study explores the use of Spirulina spp. as a biofertilizer for Coriandrum sativum, focusing on its biostimulant effects. Soil samples treated with Spirulina biofertilizer were analyzed through metagenomics, targeting the bacterial community. 16S rRNA gene sequencing identified key bacterial species, with Phaselicystis flava and Woodsholea maritima being most abundant. Notably, Woodsholea maritima was found to promote plant growth. Other species like Brevundimonas vesicularis and Acinetobacter rhizosphaerae were also present. Beta diversity analysis revealed shifts in microbial community structure, supporting Spirulina biofertilizers potential as a sustainable, eco-friendly tool to enhance crop performance and productivity. |

MICROBIAL ANALYSIS ON CHLORELLA LIQUID BIOFERTILIZER AS BIOSTIMULANT ON CORIANDRUM SATIVUM |
Chlorella a genus of microalgae has gained attention as a biofertilizer due to its beneficial effects on Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria. This study evaluates the biostimulant effect of Chlorella liquid biofertilizer on Coriandrum sativum by analyzing microbial diversity in treated soil. Genomic DNA from soil samples is analyzed through 16S rRNA sequencing to assess microbial composition. The analysis reveals Acinetobacter rhizosphaerae and Pseudomonas fragi as dominant species with Acinetobacter rhizosphaerae comprising 25 percent of the total abundance and promoting plant growth. Other species like Brevundimonas vesicularis and Lysobacter brunescens are also identified highlighting the biofertilizers impact on soil microbial diversity. |

Whole Genome Analysis of a Bacterial Isolate from the Gut Microbiota of C57BL6J Mice |
The gut microbiota significantly influences host immunity and metabolism. This study
focuses on the whole genome analysis of a bacterial isolate from the gut microbiota of
C57BL6J mice. High throughput sequencing was performed to uncover its genetic
architecture, metabolic capabilities, and potential roles in host-microbiota interactions.
Functional annotation identified genes associated with nutrient metabolism and
antimicrobial resistance. Insights from this study enhance our understanding of the
functional contributions of gut microbiota to host health and provide a basis for exploring its
therapeutic potential. |

Exploring the role of metabolites in induction of Viable but Non-Culturable (VBNC) state in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter baumannii |
This study examines how environmental stressors such as antibiotics disinfectants food preservatives and industrial effluents induce the VBNC state in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter baumannii. Using a multiomic approach including metabolomics transcriptomics and genomics the research identifies key metabolic and genetic changes that help these pathogens survive in nonculturable but viable forms. Findings offer insights into bacterial persistence and potential strategies for improved detection and control. |
