- Abstract: Two types of soils were collected from different location, one was the river bank soil of the Yamuna flood plain and another was the residential soil from the institution campus. They were mixed with different bio-composts viz. cow dung manure, leaf waste compost, kitchen waste compost, municipal organic waste compost, and vermicompost in the ratio of 5: 1 before potting. An experiment was set up by potting red amaranth, Amaranthus cruentus, using these soils in different pots. A control was also set up using DAP chemical fertilizers, without any composts. Seedling and potting were done in the month of April at the ambient environment and harvested in the month of June. Soil samples were collected before planation and post-harvest in a sterilized zip lock poly-bag, and stored at 0 to 4 degree C for further process. The microbiome analysis was done through 16S metagenomics to identify the beneficial and pathogenic microbes present in the soil samples.
